Creative Writing
He has taught courses in creative writing at various universities, most recently at the University of Bath.

He offers on-line tuition in all aspects of creative writing, from getting started, through aspects of technique, to advice on how to approach publishers. As a poet and film-maker, he has most often worked with fellow poets and screenwriters.

A particular expertise of his lies in the area of presentation. He offers classes in how to read work to an audience, classes in which participants are filmed so that they can see and learn from their presentations.

Lectures

He has lectured in over 100 universities in Britain, the United States, Canada, and Africa, as the guest of several different departments, including Humanities, English, Drama / Theatre, Film and Communications, Classics. Sometimes he has been asked to group lectures together into a short course.

In addition to lecturing in universities, he has also ben invited to speak in Ladies’ Lunch Clubs, and other social gatherings.

As an experienced public speaker, he is able to help people improve their presentations. As mentioned on tohere pages in this section, he films his students delivering presentations, and so makes them able themselves to judge their performance.
